Whaimutu Dewes reappointed to Transpower Board

State Owned Enterprises Minister Simeon Brown has announced the reappointment of Whaimutu Dewes to the Transpower Board. The decision, confirmed in a government release on Monday, 3 August 2026, ensures continuity for the national grid operator. Dewes, a highly experienced director, will continue his service alongside fellow director Owen Coppage, who was also reappointed to the board. Transpower is a State Owned Enterprise responsible for operating New Zealand’s high-voltage transmission network, which connects power generators to local lines companies and major industrial users. Minister Brown noted the appointments as part of the Government's ongoing management of board roles within its state-owned entities.
