The report highlights that AI tools have the potential to significantly support te reo Māori revitalisation by developing bilingual learning resources and increasing access to educational materials for kura and Māori-medium settings. These tools are seen as a way to enhance teaching while keeping educators at the heart of the learning process. However, the rapid growth of these technologies has prompted calls for a national framework to ensure ethical use. Māori educators have emphasized that any future developments must protect Māori data sovereignty and accurately reflect mātauranga Māori.
