Stan Walker Adds Pōneke Date to Symphonic Tour Following High Demand

Acclaimed Māori artist Stan Walker has expanded his nationwide tour, adding a Pōneke date to his 'Stan Walker – A Symphonic Experience' following a surge in ticket demand across Aotearoa. The move comes after his Tāmaki Makaurau show sold out and his Ōtautahi performance reached near-capacity. Walker, who traces his whakapapa to Tūhoe, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pūkenga, Tūhourangi, Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Whakaue, and Ngāi Tahu, describes the symphonic format as a deeper look into his musical whare. While he considers his standard concerts as welcoming guests into the front room, he says this orchestral production opens the remainder of the house to the audience. The tour announcement coincides with the release of Walker’s latest single, 'Kāinga', launched during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.
