Mind Your Tongue relaunches with a fresh look and new offerings for te reo in the home

Aotearoa's te reo Māori learning platform Mind Your Tongue has relaunched with a fresh new look and feel, and a suite of new offerings designed to bring vibrance to te reo Māori in the home and make people feel good about their language journey.
Founded by Dr Vincent Ieni Olsen-Reeder of Tauranga Moana and Te Arawa, Mind Your Tongue has long championed the idea that learning te reo should be joyful rather than intimidating. The relaunch sharpens that vision with a redesigned home where visitors now find two distinct doors: one for learning, and one for taking something made there into everyday life.
"The relaunch is a time to walk back to our original goal of sharing fun and inspiring ways to use language everyday. But it's also a chance to share some new language learning ideas with the public at large instead of just my language classrooms," said Dr Olsen-Reeder.
New physical products made in Aotearoa
The centrepiece of the relaunch is a pair of new physical products. The Waka Wetereo card game turns te reo Māori grammar practice into a social activity for the whole whānau, while a new range of greeting cards for all occasions gives people a way to use te reo Māori in the moments that matter — birthdays, celebrations, sympathy, and everything in between.
Both products are made in Aotearoa and delivered nationwide, reflecting the platform's commitment to small-batch, locally made resources.
Alongside the new products, the relaunched site offers an online course. Waka Wetereo covers the fundamentals of grammar in an accessible, self-paced format, supported by a moderated community where learners can ask questions without fear of getting it wrong.
A free te reo Māori resource hub rounds out the offering, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to starting the journey. The relaunch speaks to a growing movement of families choosing to normalise te reo Māori in their daily lives — at the dinner table, in the mail, and in the games cupboard, not just the classroom.
Mind Your Tongue's renewed vision is simple: te reo Māori belongs in the home, and every person who gives it a go deserves to feel good about doing so.
The relaunched platform, the Waka Wetereo card game, and the new greeting card range are available now at www.mindyourtongue.co.nz.
