Holloway Siblings Continue Elite Sporting Legacy Across Football and Netball

The Holloway family is cementing its reputation as a premier sporting clan in Australia, with multiple siblings reaching elite levels in both Australian Rules football and netball. As reported by the Koori Mail, the family, who carry Whadjuk and Yamatji heritage, has seen four of five siblings embark on high-performance athletic journeys across various state and national platforms. Demi Holloway, the youngest of the siblings, is currently representing the South Australian Under 18s girls' program at the National Football Championships. This milestone follows her participation in the SANFL state pathways and her league debut for Central District last season. A former best and fairest winner at the Salisbury North juniors—a club known for producing Indigenous AFL stars—Demi is now in her AFLW draft year, further establishing herself as a rising talent in the sport. The family’s success is shared by Demi’s older brothers and sisters. Joel Holloway has built an extensive football resume in the Barossa, Light and Gawler Football Association, currently playing for the South Gawler football club. He previously won a premiership with Willaston in 2024 and secured multiple Best and Fairest awards during his time with the Virginia Rams. Joel credited the family’s competitive nature for their collective drive, noting that sport is a central passion for the entire household. Their older brother, Aaron Holloway, has represented South Australia as a state netballer and achieved international success, winning a silver medal for Australia in indoor netball in South Africa. He also spent time in an AFL Aboriginal academy between 2015 and 2017. Their eldest sister, Chelsea Holloway, similarly excelled in the indoor arena, winning the SAASTA Netballer of the Year award in 2016 and securing an A-grade premiership with the Central Risdon Netball Club in 2022.
