How to request a correction

There are two ways to let us know a Tārake story needs fixing:

1. On the story itself. Open the story and use the report button to send us a short message. Please describe what's wrong and, where possible, point us to the source we should have used.
2. By email. Write to kiaora@tarake.maori.nz with the story link, what needs correcting, and any supporting source.

We aim to respond within five working days.

What happens next

• Minor fixes (spelling, macrons, a mis-linked source) are corrected in place. The story shows an updated timestamp.
• Factual corrections are corrected in place and a note is added to the story explaining what changed and when.
• Serious errors that cannot be quickly verified are unpublished while we review, and the URL is removed from search results.
• AI-curated stories that repeatedly fail verification are removed and reported back into our fact-check pipeline as a training signal.

Right of reply

If a story names you, your whānau, hapū, iwi or organisation and you feel it misrepresents you, contact the Editor directly at kiaora@tarake.maori.nz. Requests from the affected party are prioritised.

Public log of corrections

A public log of material corrections issued by Tārake will appear on this page. While Tārake is still growing, corrections are handled case-by-case with the affected reader or writer, and material corrections will be listed here as they occur.
